You cannot protect your items without the proper packing supplies. If you are moving, then you can look for moving services Las Vegas that also sell packing supplies. On the other hand, you can get them by yourself. You will need the following supplies.

  • Cardboard boxes – preferably new ones as used boxes can be damaged.
  • Special boxes – by special meaning with separators for stemware
  • Packing paper or bubble wrapping
  • Packing peanuts
  • Moving blankets
  • Tape to seal the boxes
  • Markers to label the boxes

In addition to this, you can also use your old clothes, towels, newspapers, shredded paper from your office, and so on. You can also use old boxes but only if they are in perfect condition

Wash your items

Now that you have all the necessary packing supplies, it is time to prepare your glassware. Since you are planning to store your glassware, you will not use them for some time. This can mean a few weeks or a couple of months and more. For this reason, do not pack your glassware if the pieces are dirty. Dusty items count as dirty ones so make sure to wash your glasses, cups, and the rest. You can either wash and clean your glassware by using a dishwasher or by hand. Then, make sure to dry your glassware completely. Packing wet glassware will bring mildew, which causes damage to your items.

Once you have everything prepared, it is time for packing. First, wrap each item. You can use bubble wrapping since it is the best choice. If you want to be extra safe, first use packing paper and then use bubble wrapping. Make sure to wrap everything and use tape to secure the bubble wrapping. Apart from this, most glasses, especially wine glasses, have thin stems and feet. Use extra layers of bubble wrapping for these fragile parts. In addition to this, make separators or use a box that comes with them for your glassware. Do not leave any empty space in the box since your items should not move as this can also cause damage.
